On DVD: Ray

For those of you who havent seen this yet, move it to the top of your list for DVD rentals. Jamie Foxx is uncanny in his portrayal of Ray Charles, if a person could win two Oscars for one performance this was the one. There was one point where I thought I was watching Ray Charles, that how good Jamie Foxx is in this role, unbelievable. The story is solid, the drama is solid and the portrayal of a true music pioneer is solid. There are even some things in the movie that some of us didnt know or had forgotten. One of the best aspects of the film is that it shows how much of a pioneer Ray Charles was. From owning his own master recordings to mixing gospel and rythm and blues...among other things.

This one is worth seeing, I will leave it at that so I wont ruin the experience for everyone else...best film I have seen this year.

I agree with the review. Jamie Foxx out-did himself. Not only did he do an outstanding job of portraying Ray Charles the singer; but also Ray Charles the man who overcame many obstacles to be a great singer and composer despite his disability. Foxx had all the mannerisms and moves as if he had Charles' soul inside himself.
